Remember Vincent Hubbard's feisty mum Claudette in EastEnders? Actress Ellen Thomas will be back on our telly screens next with a guest role in Casualty

Ex-EastEnders actress Ellen Thomas has joined the cast of BBC One's Casualty in the role of Omo Masters - mother of hospital nurse Jacob Masters (played by Charles Venn)

She'll be on screen from September as a semi-regular character.

Ellen's EastEnders character Claudette Hubbard, the mother of Vincent, was axed from the BBC One soap in 2016. Since then she has appeared in episodes of Sky 1's comedy-drama Mount Pleasant and ITV's Midsomer Murders.

Ellen isn't the only former Walford resident making the move to Casualty, as it was announced earlier this month that Shaheen Jafargholi, whose character Shakil Kazemi was recently killed-off in a shock knife crime storyline, will appear on screen later this year as a new medic, Marty.
