The latest Carter to arrive in EastEnders is probably the least welcome - Granddad Stan Carter.

Stan (played by stage and screen star Timothy West) arrives after the family goes to him in desperation and asks him for cash to pay for the Vic repairs, despite his longstanding feud with Shirley.

Typically, he says he'll stump up the cash IF Shirley is the one who asks for it...
