Katrina of Katrina And The Waves is encouraging the nation to get friends and family living abroad to vote for the UK entry in the Eurovision Song Contest. The singer - real name Katrina Leskanich - won the competition in 1997 with Love Shine A Light, and is hoping BT's 'Eurovictory' campaign will ensure we score more than nil points this year. "This is all about getting the nation engaged to bring home Eurovision glory," said Katrina. BT found that two-thirds of UK adults have friends and family living abroad, each with an average of nine loved ones overseas. "If each of us call just one of our friends and family in Europe, we can easily defeat tactical voting," said Katrina. "To kick things off, I'll be calling my friend Mark, who lives in Geneva." This year's UK entry is It's My Time, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Diane Warren. Singer Jade Ewen has been chosen to perform the song following the BBC's X Factor-style show, Eurovision: Your Country Needs You. The Eurovision voting system has been changed this year. A jury and televoters now each have a 50 per cent stake in the outcome of the final, which will be held in Moscow on May 16.
