Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola returns to his natural home as he takes his team to face Barcelona in the third of the Champions League group games (kick-off 7.45pm).

The ex-Barca boss will know the scale of the mission in trying to extract points from the five-times winners (apparently there are some strikers called Messi, Neymar and Suárez who are rather good), but has players of his own capable of inflicting a few deadly blows.

Raheem Sterling, in particular, has been a player reborn under the Catalan manager after struggling for form and confidence last season. If he’s fit to play tonight, he could cause an upset.
