Rowan Atkinson’s third outing as the famous French sleuth takes him away from Maigret’s usual Parisian beat to an isolated rural community, where a diamond merchant has been found dead in his car.

Maigret’s first port of call is the mansion belonging to Danish aristocrat Carl Andersen, who lives at Three Widows Crossroads with his sister and in whose garage the dead man was found.

Rowan, known for comedies Blackadder and Mr Bean, is looking more and more comfortable in his underplayed, straight role, and this time finds himself crossing swords with Kevin McNally, who appears as a local detective keen to take over the case.
