An Aboriginal farmhand (Hamilton Morris) goes on the run after killing a white man in self-defence
An Aboriginal farmhand (Hamilton Morris) goes on the run after killing a white man in self-defence.
But this is 1929 Australia and he’s soon being hotly pursued by a local posse.
Inspired by true events, this visually striking, emotionally powerful film has a compelling plot and a searing social conscience.
The performances, too, are powerful, from a harried Morris, as well as Sam Neill as a compassionate preacher-cum-farmer, Bryan Brown as a bitterly dogged sergeant and Ewen Leslie as a shell-shocked war veteran.
This film is showing from on Sunday 25 November.
