Like its predecessor, it’s a fun and informative watch, but it definitely won’t leave you salivating over the sweet treats.

Beginning tonight in Tudor times, the confectioners must prepare an ‘aristocratic sugar banquet’ where many of the delights on offer had a hidden bonus – coriander comfits helped to ease digestion, candied eryngo boosted libido and crystallised roses were a cure for gonorrhoea!
