The tables are turned for Liam Neeson when, during a family trip to Istanbul, he and his ex-wife Famke Janssen are taken by the vengeful father (Rade Sherbedgia) of a thug he killed in the first film.

The tables are turned for Liam Neeson when, during a family trip to Istanbul, he and his ex-wife Famke Janssen are taken by the vengeful father (Rade Sherbedgia) of a thug he killed in the first film. Naturally, Neeson refuses to take things lying down and it helps that the kidnappers have failed to lay their hands on his daughter (Maggie Grace), who scampers over the rooftops to locate her incarcerated parents with the aid of a map, a shoelace and a bag of grenades, a ridiculously entertaining sequence that shows off the Turkish capital to picturesque effect. Despite the daft script, the film does well by coasting on Neeson's charisma and there's plenty of excitingly staged action to entertain thrill seekers.
