Andrew Lloyd Webber to star in Hollyoaks
Hollyoaks has scored a coup with the announcement that West End mogul Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber is to play himself in three episodes in late January. Lord Lloyd Webber is delighted to be cast in the Channel 4 show: "I have blurred fiction with fact all my life, but never before on national TV. Bless Hollyoaks for asking me." His storyline revolves around Hollyoaks' very own Summer Shaw, who's in pursuit of stardom and is determined to fulfil her dream of West End fame – at any price. Convinced that she's good enough to succeed if only she had the opportunity, she decides that she has just one option – to stalk legendary theatre producer Andrew Lloyd Webber! With determination and tenacity Summer finally gets her wish and the chance to audition for her idol, but with the spotlight firmly fixed on her not everything goes to plan... Actress Summer Strallen, who plays Summer, said: "It’s been a brilliant storyline and to have the opportunity to work with Andrew Lloyd Webber was fantastic. Hollyoaks viewers will have to tune in to find out if Summer does enough to impress Andrew Lloyd Webber or if she’ll live happily ever after in the village with OB!"
