George, who's played Ash since 2014, is now in his native New Zealand filming a musical
Home and Away star George Mason is set to leave the hit Aussie soap as bad boy Ash.
The popular actor told Australian publication the Daily Telegraph that playing Martin ‘Ash’ Ashford had been a ‘dream job’ but the paper reported that he was now bowing out after three years in the part.
He said that it had been “overwhelming” to play “a main character on such a big television show”.
Ash is a Summer Bay bad boy
George has reportedly already filmed his final scenes for Home and Away, while his exit storyline is yet to be revealed.
The New Zealand born star, who first arrived in Summer Bay in 2014, is currently shooting the film Daffodils.
Based on a stage play, the musical sees George play Eric, who’s in love with Rose.
Before playing baddie Ash, George turned up as criminal Regan in Shortland Street.
