Home and Away halts filming after severe storm

Production on Australian soap Home and Away has been badly hindered by stormy weather.

The show, broadcast on Channel 5 in the UK, has lost two days of filming because of the weather across New South Wales, according to The Age.

The Age reported that filming of outdoor scenes at Palm Beach in Sydney’s north – the beach in the show’s Summer Bay – were cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 21-22).

Instagram shots show the soap in sunnier weather.

It’s not yet known if filming will resume on Thursday after Palm Beach was left severely eroded by the huge waves and the caravan park set suffered serious flooding.

“It was shut down yesterday and today,” a Seven Network spokeswoman was quoted as saying. “So we have only lost two days so far.”

*Home and Away will be taking its annual summer break in the UK during May. It will return the first week of June
