I’m A Celeb to be the next fight for Olympic boxing champ Nicola Adams?

Olympic medal-winning boxer Nicola Adams has hinted that she could be preparing for a bout in the jungle for the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity…

Nicola, 31, said her background makes her prepared to handle sleeping rough, forgoing her daily luxuries and enduring those gruesome bushtucker trials.

Asked if she would appear on reality shows like fellow Olympic medallists Louis Smith and Victoria Pendleton on Strictly Come Dancing and Beth Tweddle on Dancing On Ice, Nicola answered: “I think I’d be more of a jungle type of person.

“I’m competitive. I’m an athlete so I’d be ready for anything in the jungle,” she added.

So has she been approached by I’m A Celeb? “Possibly, maybe. I'm not sure. Who knows what the future holds?” she teased.

Filming on I'm A Celebrity begins in November, before the show - hosted by Ant and Dec - airs on ITV later that month.

In or out of the jungle, Nicola has plenty to keep her busy as she’s preparing for the Rio Olympics in 2016.

“We’ve got the qualifiers next year so I’m getting ready for that,” she said.

“I always set new goals for myself. Boxing in the Olympics in Rio, I could possibly be the first-ever Great British boxer to win a competitive gold medal so that's my motivation for Rio.”

And her motivation for I’m A Celeb, if she finds herself in the jungle? Probably to box clever and prove a knock-out in the trials…

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV in November.
