Neighbours stars Olympia Valance and Mavournee Hazel share their obsession with all things Harry Potter and reveal what’s in store for their onscreen alter-egos….
When Neighbours stars Olympia Valance and Mavournee Hazel, best known as Ramsay Street’s Paige Smith and Piper Willis, made a whirlwind visit to the UK, WOTV caught up with the girls to talk weddings, juicy storylines and Harry Potter!
Olympia Valance, 24, and Mavournee Hazel, 21, have established themselves as firm Ramsay Street favourites since joining the soap (check out the latest storylines). The pair play feisty sisters, Paige and Piper on screen and away from the cameras the girls are great-friends who enjoy hanging out which is just as well as they've been spending quite a bit of time together following their recent trip to the UK!
Right now, both are at the centre of the drama happening Down Under with juicy storylines involving love and tangled relationships, but they were delighted to make a trip to Europe, not least because they got to visit Harry Potter World!
“I watch Harry Potter every single night after work. I’m a mad fan!” said Olympia, while Mavournee added, “I’m a fan but not as hardcore as Olympia. She can recite literally every single word!”
Meanwhile Olympia has also been busy catching up with her family as, after 20 years of marriage, her mum recently decided to renew her wedding vows with a celebratory party in Mykonos, Greece.
“It was supposed to be just close family and the next thing you know there’s 50 people going”, said Olympia, whose half-sister sister is former Neighbours star turned singer, Holly Valance. “The quote of the trip was, ‘It’s not a wedding’, but it turned into mum wearing a wedding dress, we were in bridesmaid’s dresses, there was a photographer, we had a reception….it was SO a wedding!”
The girls also revealed what exciting developments are in store for their characters Paige and Piper.
Speaking about her on-screen boyfriend, Tyler Brennan, Mavournee, said, “Tyler’s biological dad Hamish is on a mission to isolate Tyler and break up his relationship with Piper and he’s doing a pretty good job. That all comes to head which is very sad.”
Meanwhile Paige is caught up in a love triangle with her best friend, Elly and Tyler’s big brother Mark.
Olympia said, “Paige has had a large relationship in the past with Mark and he’s shown that he really cares for her but he’s in a relationship with Elly. It all gets very messy.”
