10 Years Ago This Week in the Soaps: August 29

Remind yourself of all the drama that was happening in EastEnders, Corrie, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks this week 10 years ago. Doesn't time fly!

We take a walk down soap memory lane to see what was happening in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks a decade ago this week…

Liz McDonald’s fella Vernon Tomlin decided he liked the look of barmaid Michelle Connor and he set about getting her into bed. Michelle, however, realised what was going on and she tricked him into making a move on her late at night in the Rovers… in front of a less-then-thrilled Betty Driver and Sean Tully (pictured above)! Liz was even less impressed with Vernon’s nocturnal display of lust and dumped him, then threw him out of the pub (pictured below) and out of her life!

Elsewhere, cunning Charlie Stubbs (pictured below) staged a break-in at Maria Sutherland’s flat, and Frankie Baldwin was keen to get to grips with hunky newcomer Liam Connor.

Stacey Slater was pregnant and deeply conflicted about her condition because her boyfriend and baby father, Bradley Branning, made it clear he wasn’t ready to be a dad.

Stacey eventually told him and they made the painful decision to head to a clinic and have an abortion.

Meanwhile, Stacey’s hunky brother, Sean, got to grips with Max Branning’s wife, Tanya.

Katie Sugden got to very violent and very muddy grips with Jo Stiles when she feared she and Andy Sugden were having an affair. Andy said Katie had nothing to worry about, then Jo cornered him in a barn and got passionate!

Meanwhile, Jean Hope couldn’t hide her jealousy when Terry Wood celebrated going into business with Louise Appleton. And Danny Daggert said goodbye to the Dales for a new life in Portugal.

Jake Dean appeared in court to hear the verdict, and Sonny Valentine swore he’d get revenge for the death of Diane Valentine.

Elsewhere, unemployed Becca Dean landed a new job in a fast food restaurant, but she lied that she was working in an office to boyfriend Justin Burton.
