Alex Jones: I was hideous on Strictly Come Dancing!

"I don't know how I lasted so long," says Alex

The One Show’s Alex Jones has described her efforts on Strictly Come Dancing as being “hideous”.

Alex, who partnered James Jordan, is stunned looking back that she managed to come fifth in the 2011 edition of the BBC1 hit.

“I was so hideous. I don’t know how I lasted so long. I remember the first day of training my dance partner [James Jordan] actually cried, he was like, ‘I thought you might have some rhythm!," she told This Morning.

Alex added that she was “excited” about the return of Strictly Come Dancing this autumn.

As to who she’s hoping to go far in the competition, Alex said: “I hope that Stacey Dooley does really well, she’s such a sweet girl, she’s going to be fantastic.”

And she said that despite not being the greatest dancer, she did enjoy her time on Strictly: “It is a fantastic experience and everyone who does it is lucky to be part of it.”

Meanwhile, Alex also spoke about juggling her TV work with being a mum to her baby boy Teddy, who was born last year.

“Most of it is absolutely wonderful, but of course, it’s trying to have a working life and not sleeping in the night.

She added: “You know when the time is right. You’ll just feel it.”

This Morning continues on ITV.
