Rumours flew as The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs and the former cricketer Darren Gough were said to have got cosy as they filmed Channel 4 reality show The Jump.
Now, reality star Amy has broken her silence over Darren, saying: “We’ll never stop being friends but I hope he sorts things out with his wife.”
Amy and Darren were said to have got close in Switzerland earlier this year, reports the Sunday People.
Soon afterwards Darren, 43, who won BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2005, split with his wife, Anna.
But Amy, 23, said: “We get on so well and when you get on well with someone it’s really nice.
“But that’s all – nothing ever happened.”
Amy insists she wants England cricketing legend Darren to resolve his differences with his wife.
The couple, who have two sons aged 16 and 19, split in 2002 but reconciled in 2009.
Amy said: “I hope he sorts things out and is happy.”
