Tissues at the ready!

While Saturday Night Takeaway never fails to make us howl with laughter, this week viewers were left crying as well after Ant and Dec reunited a mother with her son.

During their segment Happiest Minute Of The Week – which sees some deserving people win a place on the plane to Florida for the season finale – Ant McPartlin surprised audience member Amanda Woodlee.

Geordie presenter Ant told ITV viewers: "Amanda here, both her husband and her son work for the army and you haven’t seen either of them for months, have you?"

As a shocked Amanda shook her head in disbelief, the studio linked up with her husband serving in Afghanistan who broke the amazing news that they would soon be reunited.

"I'm so sorry I can't be there," he said, before adding: "But I'll see you soon, because we've got a place on the plane!"

But that wasn't the only surprise Ant and Dec had for Amanda, and things soon got very emotional when it was announced that her son Jordan had flown in from the Falklands to surprise her.

As he ran down the stairs to give his mum a hug and present her with two boarding passes, the whole nation was left sobbing.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Crying at @itvtakeaway because that ladies son brought her the boarding pass that she hasn’t seen in months So lovely! Best show ever! #SaturdayNightTakeaway".

"Ant and Dec's #SaturdayNightTakeaway made me cry, reuniting a lady with her son who has been in the army, and giving a honeymoon to two husbands who missed theirs. YAY!" said another.

While a third simply added: "You can't do that.. I'm crying #SaturdayNightTakeaway".

That wasn't the only tear-jerking moment on Saturday night's show, as another audience member got down on one knee with a ring and proposed to his girlfriend on the stage.

During a part of the show called Run For Your Wife - which saw three men challenged to a 5km race across London to try to win tickets for the final show - Callum decided to pop the question to his partner Jenna live on the telly.
