Coronation Street LEGEND hints dramatic return to REUNITE with former flame: 'They're meant to be'

There have been hints that former Coronation Street favourite Jim McDonald could soon be making a comeback to the cobbles...

Coronation Street favourite Liz McDonald might have only just got her life back together after her scheming ex-husband Jim McDonald duped her into believing that their dead daughter Katie was still alive, but it seems her life could be turned upside down once again...

Actor Charles Lawson has appeared on the ITV morning show Lorraine to talk about his recent recovery from health issues, but found the time to drop some hints that we haven't seen the last of his cobbles alter ego, Jim.

The actor revealed that he has been in touch with Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod and there could be a return in the pipeline... "It's the first time in 40 years in this business that I finally meet a producer who keeps in contact with the actors," he joked.

"I was in touch with Mr MacLeod yesterday and there are ideas!

"It's not really down to him, its down to the writers and if they come up with something. The only thing he does is, if it's a load of rubbish, then he'll say it."

So does this mean Liz should be looking over her shoulder in case her troublemaking ex makes a comeback? "You can't possibly separate Liz and Jim. They're meant to be. It's like Richard Burton and Liz Taylor.

"It's very easy for me because I've lived 'in Beverley's (Callard, who plays Liz McDonald) pocket', in inverted commas, for a long time. It's two minutes and it's like they've never been apart."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
