Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has confessed she used to have a crush on her co-star Simon Gregson before she joined the show. The former Hear'Say singer told OK! Magazine that she used to fancy Simon's character Steve McDonald when she was a child. She said: "I used to have a crush on Simon when I was little so I often say to him now, 'What happened?!'" Kym, 32, now stars as barmaid Michelle Connor in the soap who is dating Steve McDonald but said her best friend in the show is Beverly Callard, who plays Steve's mother Liz. She said: "I go to her pub a lot outside of work and we chat a lot. Alison King, Rob James-Collier, Antony Cotton, Charlie Condou and Simon are also great friends. The people you work with more are the people you bond with more." Kym recently split from husband and former EastEnders actor Jack Ryder and is now dating Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas. She has moved closer to the Coronation Street set which she says has been great for her children David, 13, and Emily 10. Kym said: "I've been able to move up to Cheshire, which is so much better for the kids because they see their dad more. I've made some great friends and I love Manchester. I'm the happiest I've ever been."
