Corrie favourite Catherine Tyldesley has teased fans with a glimpse into her next move, sharing posts on her Instagram story as she auditions for new roles.

Catherine Tyldesley is taking some time away from the cobbles to audition for new roles.

The soap star, who will leave Coronation Street this year, shared some revealing snaps on her Instagram story as she travellled to London to attend auditions.

The actress shared a picture while she sat on the train, writing "scripts, brew, music #Londonbound".

Later, Cath shared a picture of Willy Wonka, with a notice saying: "Your audition is this way".

Catherine announced she would be leaving Corrie in December last year after playing barmaid Eva Price for almost seven years.

Speaking to The Sun at the time, Catherine said: "Coronation Street has been a dream job for me which is why this was such a difficult decision to leave.

"Eva has been such fun to play over the last seven years, and who knows, one day she might storm the cobbles of Weatherfield again.

"In the meantime I’m excited about the future, new acting projects, and spending time with my family."

Catherine is reportedly "desperate" to break into the world of Jane Austen-style period dramas and take on grittier, darker roles.

Catherine's exit from Coronation Street is reportedly due to take place this summer with an explosive storyline planned.
