Caroline Aherne will not be a panellist on Loose Women, according to her Royle Family co-creator Craig Cash. The comedy writer and actress was rumoured to be in the running to join the ITV1 chat show this September. But, speaking at the Sky1HD comedy launch, her friend and colleague Craig said that she "didn't know a thing" about the rumours. He said: "Oh, that was made up, complete and utter rubbish. I spoke to her the other day and she said, 'apparently I'm going to be doing Loose Women, Craig, but I don't know a thing about it'." However, Craig - who was promoting new comedy series The Cafe - which he directs and which stars fellow Royle Family actor Ralph Little - said Caroline is a big fan of the show. "Well, she seems to watch it a lot. When we go around, we always have to stop for Loose Women," he said. He added that he thought Caroline would be great alongside Denise Welch, Sherrie Hewson and the rest. "She would be brilliant on it, though. Because she's very loose and she's a woman," he joked.
