Dr Ranj Singh used sign language on Strictly Come Dancing shortly before becoming the sixth celebrity to depart the BBC1 series.

The hugely popular CBeebies star took to Instagram to highlight the fact that he and his pro dancer Janette Manrara had once again used sign language.

Dr Ranj, who earlier in the series had signed glitter ball on Strictly, this time signed fireworks.

“SO proud that we got to bring a little bit of sign to our time on @bbcstrictly. We had an incredible time on the show, and just wanted to share the magic with as many people as we would! This was our sign for fireworks on Saturday night.”

Fans replied to say how much they loved watching the couple and how much they appreciated Dr Ranj using sign language.

One wrote: “Thank you for signing on Strictly !!!!!!!! I am a deaf ballroom and latin dancer on the British team and every Monday when I go into training my team have learnt a new sign from you.

“I can not tell you how happy it made me you were pushing inclusivity especially on strictly !!”

Dr Ranj’s departure has left a lot of children seriously disappointed!

Indeed CBeebies has even issued a guide for parents on how to cheer up their little ones after Dr Ranj’s exit.

Dr Ranj and Janette performed a fire-worked themed Samba on Saturday’s show, but despite scoring an impressive 27 points they found themselves in the bottom two after the public vote.

Eventually Shirely Ballas used her casting vote to send Dr Ranj on his way – saving Casualty star Charles Venn and Karen Clifton in the process. Janette tweeted her love for Dr Ranj, saying she could "not have asked for a more wonderful person to dance" with this series.

Strictly Come Dancing - sadly without Dr Ranj - continues this Saturday.
