The nan of Ben's first love Paul Coker – who was killed in a homophobic attack – prompts Ben to make a big decision about his future with Callum… But is it good or bad news?

Ben Mitchell will show his lesser-seen emotional side in EastEnders next week when Pam Coker – the gran of his first love Paul – briefly returns to Walford.

The storyline – which starts on Thursday 7th November – will see Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) reel when he runs into Pam Coker (Lin Hawley) in The Prince Albert.

Bonded by their grief for Paul – who died in 2016 following a homophobic attack – Ben soon becomes emotional as he spends time with Pam, who still owns Coker & Mitchell Funeral Directors with her husband Les.

When the kindly nan urges Ben to be happy with Callum (Tony Clay) her words have an effect and push him to make a ‘big gesture’ teases an EastEnders insider.

Is macho Ben going to get all romantic on Callum - or will he go the other way and dump him?

Pam’s presence also prompts undertaker Jay, who works for the Cokers, to make a change as he decides to take a step back from the funeral business to concentrate on the car lot.

Watch EastEnders on BBC from Monday 4 November.
