Riley Carter Millington, who played Kyle Slater in EastEnders, is taking part in a new series which will see seven celebs face an extreme weight-loss challenge

Having finished (for now) playing Stacey Fowler’s half-brother Kyle Slater in EastEnders, Riley Carter Millington has jumped out of the fire and into the fat farm.

Along with six other celebs, Riley is taking part Celebrity Fat Fighters, a new reality TV series due to start in January 2017 on the TLC channel.

It’s an extreme weight loss challenge with a Russian taskmaster, Galia Grainger, whose motto is: ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you thinner’.

Expect "sweat and tears" we’re told by a show insider. Sounds a bit like Enders…

The three-part series will also feature Gogglebox’s Sandi Bogle, actress Jennifer Ellison, X Factor's Stevi Ritchie, The Only Way Is Essex sar James “Diags” Bennewith, comedian Danny Miles and Big Brother’s Lateysha Grace.

Arriving at the retreat with emotional baggage and unhealthy cravings, the famous faces turn to Galia’s techniques and tactics to help them conquer bad habits which include smoking, sugar and takeaways.

During their time at the bootcamp, the celebs will have a diet of just 400 calories a day and more than eight hours of intense and sometimes unconventional training.

With business booming and a VIP waiting list, Galia’s strict methods start with breaking down her guests and pummelling their celebrity egos into submission before their transformation can begin. Galia jokes, ‘resistance is futile’.

“Our seven celebrities are in for a very unique brand of shock therapy as they bid to take back control of their body and mind,” says Clare Laycock, VP, head of TLC and Investigation Discovery channels. “Each one has a personal or professional goal that they are hoping to achieve with the help of Galia’s always punishing, sometimes unorthodox and ultimately rewarding regime. Expect sweat, tears, hunger pangs and unlikely friendships but no treats at this retreat for the rich and famous.”

Celebrity Fat Fighters can be seen on the TLC channel on January 2, 3 and 4, 9.00pm.
