Fans speculate over who's coming back

Mandy Dingle is about return to Emmerdale and now the show’s bosses have revealed that another familiar face will be coming back soon.

The old character – who hasn’t been seen for “quite a while” – will feature in a string of special episodes in Northern Ireland’s capital, Belfast.

The episodes will see a batch of Emmerdale characters head over to Belfast, where they will get a shock when they run into this person.

Teasing the plot, Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw said: “In March we’ve got some special episodes coming up where we go to Belfast. A group of our characters go over to Belfast and there’s going to be some fun and japes over there.

“And what we can reveal is that maybe they’re going to bump into somebody who was in our village quite a while ago who’ve we’ve not seen for a while and maybe that person is going to be coming back to the village...”

Emmerdale spoilers! Kim Tate DEAD after fall at Home Farm?

Kim made a dramatic return to Emmerdale last year - but which old character is returning this year?

Kim Tate of course already made a comeback last year and some have suggested that perhaps Adam Barton might be returning.

However, he only departed recently, so perhaps Emmerdale viewers need to go further back. Could Kelvin Fletcher, who left the soap in 2016, be about to make a surprise comeback as Andy Sugden?

Talking about why he left the show, Kelvin recently told The Bolton News: “Having played the same character for 20 years I had a real appetite to do other things, play different characters, and work in different areas.”

But perhaps Kelvin now feels the time’s right for a comeback… however, there are plenty of other people Laura could be referring to.

Could it be Liv’s mum, Sandra, who was last seen heading to Ireland? Or, is it someone we haven’t thought of?!

Emmerdale continues on ITV.
