Fame runs in the family for Louis Healy. So when he joined the cast of Emmerdale, his mum Denise Welch had a bit of advice for him!

When Louis Healy landed a role in Emmerdale earlier this year his ex-Corrie and Waterloo Road star mum Denise Welch was proud to announce the news on Instagram. She also had some handy advice for the newest soap star in the family.

"My mum just said, 'Be prepared for anything, and take a spare pair of boxers with you in your bag!'" reveals Louis, who is currently on screen in the ITV soap as bad lad Danny who has gradually been leading teenager Sarah Sugden astray. "You could be walking off set at 6pm thinking you are going home. But then you find out you have a really early call time the next day and need to stick around."

Coming-up on Emmerdale on Tuesday 19th November, viewers will see Sarah (played by Katie Hill) throw a party and try to impress Danny by agreeing to take some illegal drugs much to the alarm of family relative Noah Dingle (Jack Downham).

Don't forget, Sarah has a serious heart condition. So her efforts to play it cool with Danny could end in disaster...

"I think Danny does have a soft spot for Sarah," reckons Louis, whose dad is Tim Healy of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet fame. "But in the back of his mind he knows she has fallen for him more than he has fallen for her. So he does use that to his advantage and starts pressuring her to do certain things."

Hmm, Sarah's fiesty grandmother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) may have a few choice words for dodgy Danny if she finds out what he is up to. So he'd better watch out!

Luckily, the Emmerdale cast and fans are showing Louis a lot more love offscreen. Could he soon have as many followers on social media as his rock star big brother Matty Healy, lead singer with The 1975!

"Ha! To me, he's just an ordinary member of my family," says Louis who can often be spotted backstage at The 1975 gigs. "I think he finds all the attention quite funny too. To him, he's just playing music with the same bunch of mates he used to play music with at school. Except instead of playing in the garage now they're playing somewhere like the Manchester Arena. So it is a bit mad, isn't it!"
