Lisa says the boys feel like brothers to her

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has described how thrilled she is to be acting alongside Dominic Brunt and Mark Charnock again after 17 years, describing the pair as being like brothers to her.

It was revealed by ITV earlier this week that Lisa will make an Emmerdale comeback as Mandy Dingle in the New Year.

And today, Dominic Brunt, who plays Mandy’s ex husband Paddy Kirk, tweeted a beautiful picture of Emmerdale, declaring: “Frosty morning but the village looks beautiful at this time of year. Working with @Reallisariley and @markcharnock today. @emmerdale x”

To which Lisa replied: “Absolute joy working with my (what feels like) life brothers… @dominic brunt and @markcharnock.”

The tweets also reveal that Lisa is already busy filming scenes for her long-awaited comeback. Viewers have been speculating like mad that her return has something to do with her ex husband, Paddy.

Paddy

Is Mandy Dingle back because of her ex hubby Paddy? Does he have a child he doesn't know about?

Long-time fans of the soap will know that Paddy and Mandy were married between 1999 and 2001, and viewers are convinced that Mandy could return to the village with a child – who would actually now be a teenager – and that Paddy’s the dad! Or perhaps her return has something to do with Marlon, played by Mark?

Whatever the truth, Lisa is clearly thrilled to be back.

“I couldn’t be happier to be returning in the New Year to Emmerdale,” says the 42-year-old star. “It’s something I never thought would happen after 17 years and I am so interested to see what trouble Mandy is capable of causing. But mostly being back with all my old friends, it’s like I’ve never been away.”

Emmerdale continues on ITV.
