Neighbours is welcoming Aussie radio personality Fifi Box to the cast in the role of Gold Coast hussy Brooke Butler

Australian radio presenter Fifi Box has joined the cast of the long-running show Neighbours.

Fifi will join as part of the Canning clan, playing the role of Gold Coast party girl Brooke Butler, mother of Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van der Meer) and girlfriend of Gary Canning (Damien Richardson).

Fifi's best known for her work on radio, her performance on TV’s Dancing with the Stars, as entertainment editor on Sunrise and currently as Fox FM’s breakfast co-host on the Fifi & Dave show.

The 39-year old will add actor to her skill set  after landing the recurring guest role on the Channel 5 soap.

Fifi said: “I'm so excited to be heading to Ramsay Street to join the Neighbours family. Acting has been a lifelong dream of mine and to get this opportunity on Australia's most loved and popular show has blown my mind, I'm too excited for words!”

She has described the opportunity as a dream come true, telling Australia’s Herald Sun: “My 15 year-old self would have auditioned and I never assumed in my wildest dreams that I’d be doing it now. When I heard they had a role I jumped at it. All jokes aside, acting was my first love and I loved drama in year 12.”

Jason Herbison, Neighbours’ Executive Producer, said: “We needed someone who can not only act, but had a natural warmth, high energy and could also pull off Gold Coast chic – and Fifi nailed it.

"Jokes aside, Fifi’s audition was brilliant and her character Brooke is going to rattle the cage on Ramsay Street. We are all very excited to have her join the Canning family."

Her character, Brooke, is set to stir up some trouble in Ramsay Street, having being described as a 'dubious woman who relies on her looks to get by.'

Fifi begins filming this week and will debut on Neighbours in September.
