Christopher Lee, George Raft and Brian Donlevy are among the villainous 'dragons' encountered by Robert Cummings in this exotic British feature from 1967, which gets a UK DVD release on Monday 10 March 2014 from Network Distributing.
THE STORY Bob Mitchell, an American playboy newly arrived in Hong Kong, is the recipient of an enigmatic written message, found on the body of a dead man. The message reads simply: 'Five Golden Dragons'. It is Mitchell's introduction to an illicit gold-trafficking operation, and he soon finds himself in the midst of a power struggle between a secretive global crime syndicate and brutal local mobsters...
THE LOWDOWN Hitchcock hero Robert Cummings takes the lead in this breezy comedy thriller, adapted from one of Edgar Wallace's celebrated Commissioner Sanders stories. ITC stalwart Jeremy Summers takes up directing duties, while the film is produced by B-movie legend Harry Alan Towers. Five Golden Dragons combines glamorous locations, gorgeous girls and a Chinese junk full of gags, coupled with guest appearances from Christopher Lee, George Raft and Brian Donlevy, and makes for a perfect lazy Sunday afternoon treat.
THE UK DVD RELEASE Network Distibuting presents the film in a brand-new transfer from original elements, in its as-exhibited theatrical aspect ratio, and includes an hour-long audio interview from 2001 with director Jeremy Summers, trailer and gallery.
