The Malone family love their dogs

Googlebox star Shaun Malone has revealed the death of their beloved family dog Frank, who was often seen on the family sofa in the hit C4 series.

Shaun, 22, announced the news on Instagram, posting a picture of himself cuddling Frank on their famous Manchester sofa.

He wrote: “After 11 years with the family it was so hard but best thing to do for him we’ve had to put my dog Frank to sleep. RIP Frankie.”

The Malone family - mum, Julie, dad Tom Senior, and sons Tom Jr and Shaun - thanked viewers for their support, writing on their Tweeter account: “Thank you so very much for all your kind words and thoughts. It’s been a tough day but now trying to focus on all our good times with Frankie, there are such a lot!

“The thing is he was loved too much for us to let him suffer. He will never be forgotten, he will live on in our hearts.”

They had also said their hearts were broken by the news. Shaun also thanked the RSPCA, who cared for Frank before the Malones took him in.

Frank was very popular with fans of Gogglebox and was often seen with the family as they watched the week’s telly.
