Jamie Oliver in £20m bid for Little Chef

Naked Chef Jamie Oliver is reportedly planning to put in a bid to buy Little Chef. Fresh One Productions - Jamie's TV production company - has been considering making a bid of around £20million for the ailing motorway restaurant chain in order to revamp its 'greasy spoon' menu, according to reports in The Sun. Jamie plans to film a reality show as he turns the business around after it almost went bankrupt in January. An insider said: "It's a tempting proposition for a TV company, as you're dealing with one of Britain's best-loved brands." Jamie wants to roll out healthier food and fresher ingredients to Little Chef's 192 eateries. On Thursday, private equity firm RCapital - which stepped in to save the troubled chain earlier this year - confirmed that it had been approached by Jamie's company. A spokesman for Jamie, who is worth a mouthwatering £60million, confirmed that Fresh One "has held talks about buying the business". Sources said all the chain's eateries would be given a makeover — although the famous logo of a character in a chef's hat would stay.
