Jo Brand hosts new Great British Bake Off spin-off, An Extra Slice

As a huge cake lover, comedian Jo Brand will be in her element presenting An Extra Slice, The Great British Bake Off's new spin-off show.
"I'm absolutely delighted to have been asked to be part of An Extra Slice," says Jo. "As someone who obviously loves cakes, but also keeps a very strict eye on my figure and exercises assiduously to keep healthy, I hope I'm a worthy candidate to represent the Borough Of Baking."
An Extra Slice starts on Friday, August 8 on BBC2 at 9pm, directly after the main Bake Off show with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, which has now switched channels to BBC1 and starts at 8pm.
Jo will be chatting about the night's episode, introducing unseen footage and interviewing the week's eliminated baker.
The studio audience will also be challenged to bring in their bakes inspired by the week's theme - be it bread, pastry or a cake - and viewers will be invited to share photos of their efforts too.

I'm a huge fan of TV so I've found the perfect job, writing about telly shows and interviewing major television, film and sports stars for over 30 years. I'm currently the TV Content Director on What's On TV, TV Times, TV and Satellite Week magazines plus contribute to Whattowatch.com. I previously worked on Woman and Woman's Own in the 1990s. Outside of work I swim every morning, support Charlton Athletic football club and get nostalgic about TV shows Cagney & Lacey, I Claudius, Dallas, Tenko and I'm quite partial to a bit of Little House on The Prairie. I'm totally on top of everything good coming up too, and love newer shows such as The Day Of The Jackal, This is Us, Hacks and anything Dexter.
