Joan Collins to star in new series of Benidorm

Joan Collins is about to arrive in Spain to begin filming on the new series of Benidorm, playing the resort's boss, Crystal Hennessy Vass, CEO of the Solana Group Hotels.

"It's brilliant to have Joan Collins back with us," said Sherrie Hewson, who plays Solana manageress Joyce Temple-Savage. "Joan brought Benidorm to a standstill last time, and quite rightly so! Everyone stops for Joan Collins! I can't wait to film new scenes with her."

Jake Canuso, who plays barman/receptionist, said: "Having scenes with Joan Collins last year was the best moment of my career so far. Joan loves the show, and it's really special to have her back with filming with us."

Other guest stars confirmed for the new series are TV presenter and actress Nadia Sawalha and John Challis, best known for playing Boycie in Only Fools And Horses.

Following the success of the last series, with average ratings of 6.8 million viewers, the new series will also feature the return of three major characters – Johnny Vegas will reprise his role of The Oracle, Elsie Kelly will play his mother Noreen again, and Crissy Rock returns as hotel worker Janey York.

The seventh series of Benidorm is expected to screen in early 2015.
