EastEnders' Lacey Turner has become engaged to her hairdresser boyfriend Matt Kay during a holiday in Venice

EastEnders star Lacey Turner is set to marry her long-term boyfriend Matt Kay after he proposed on holiday.

Hairdresser Matt is thought to have popped the question during a romantic trip to Venice.

He shared a picture of the couple – who were childhood sweethearts – on Instagram shortly after Lacey, 28, said yes.

She is seen looking overwhelmed and excited in the adorable snap, in which she is flashing a stunning diamond ring.

Matt wrote: “She said yes….ooooosssshhhhhhhh.”

He added the hashtag “#fiance”.

Lacey, who plays Stacey Fowler in the BBC1 soap, and hairdresser Matt first started dating in their teens.
