Lara Pulver: Sherlock fans want me back

Actress Lara Pulver has admitted that she is still regularly asked by Sherlock fans if she plans to return to the series.

Lara, who played saucy dominatrix Irene Adler in the episode A Scandal In Belgravia, told the BBC that fans fondly remembered her role in the show, even though it is well over a year since it was shown.

"Oh my God, I get inundated every day with people saying, 'Please say Irene Adler's going to be in season three, please!'," she revealed.

"As far as I know, I'm not going to be a part of series three. Sherlock is Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat's passion project. If it fits to have her back, I know they'll write it; if it doesn't, I trust them to get it right."

The actress made a big impression in the show - largely due to appearing naked except for high heels in one particular scene.

And she said that she may well be stripping again for her new role in the Fox show Demons.

"We are in Renaissance Italy, which involved women often being used for men's desires, and we don't shy away from sexual intimacy," Lara admitted.

"However, I am not one to drop my clothes for the sake of it."

The new series of Sherlock is currently being filmed in London although a transmission date has yet to be confirmed.
