Comedy legend Lenny Henry told What's On TV he may have a big announcement to make at the end of Comic Relief tonight.

He told What's on TV at the 41st Broadcasting Press Guild Television and Radio Awards: "Look out, because I'll big making a big announcement later tonight."

It may have something to do with an incredible financial milestone the TV charity has reached...

Today Lenny received an outstanding contribution honour at the Broadcasting Awards, following his 40 years in showbusiness. He shared with us memories of his early TV days, appearing on New Faces and kids' show Tiswas, as well as some secrets about his upcoming role in the third series of BBC1's lottery drama The Syndicate, which will be shown later this year.

He also said he'd love to do even more TV dramas in the future, including playing Britain's first ever black police officer.

Nicholas Cannon
TV Content Director on TV Times, What's On TV and TV & Satellite Week

I'm a huge fan of television so I really have found the perfect job, as I've been writing about TV shows, films and interviewing major television, film and sports stars for over 25 years. I'm currently TV Content Director on What's On TV, TV Times, TV and Satellite Week magazines plus Whattowatch.com. I previously worked on Woman and Woman's Own in the 1990s. Outside of work I swim every morning, support Charlton Athletic football club and get nostalgic about TV shows Cagney & Lacey, I Claudius, Dallas and Tenko. I'm totally on top of everything good coming up too.
