Michelle Keegan is Strictly Not Dancing

Michelle Keegan won’t be following her fiance Mark Wright onto the floor to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing after watching him compete in the show.

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark took part in the BBC One show last year.

Michelle, 27, dismissed speculation that she was planning to take part in the next series, saying: “No – because it was so horrible watching Mark!

“Mark’s a more confident person than me. And I remember seeing how nervous he was and thinking, ‘If he’s like that, I just couldn’t do it’.”

The former Coronation Street star told Radio Times magazine that the couple would not do a Strictly-style dance at their wedding.

“I think everyone assumes we’re going to do something choreographed, but we’re not,” she said.

“I couldn’t do that anyway because I’m rubbish. It’s just going to be a personal thing.”

Despite landing a role in new BBC One drama Ordinary Lies, the actress – who played barmaid Tina McIntyre in the soap – said that she was still taking lessons with an acting coach.

“With the auditions and callbacks I’ve been getting, I go to see him just so I can feel confident with the scripts,” she said.

Michelle said that she 'went into shock' when she was told that her Coronation Street alter-ego would be killed off following her decision to leave.

“I was thinking maybe in the future I could go back,” she said. “But it’s given me that fear factor. I could easily have stayed in Corrie until I was 80, but now I have to fight for things.”
