The Village is the perfect place for a trip down memory lane...

Nostalgia fans, listen up! ITV3 will be showing classic episodes of Emmerdale, starting January 21st.

While it's not clear yet which era will be shown, there will be two episodes scheduled in each afternoon.

But, of course, this isn't the first soap to be given the old school treatment. Emmerdale follows in the footsteps of Coronation Street. The return of classic Corrie was first announced in 2017, and was also shown on ITV3.

The channel also airs throwback episodes of EastEnders, where viewers can catch retro residents of the Square throughout the decades.

Emmerdale fans have been enjoying another blast from the past recently, after soap veteran Lisa Riley made a shock return as Mandy Dingle - after 18 years away from the Village.

Emmerdale, Mandy Dingle

Fans rejoiced, taking to twitter to express their delight, as she burst back onto screens - complete with leopard print coat. Viewers were also quick to predict the bombshell she has in store for Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).

‘Exciting times, Mandy is back’, one wrote.’Haven't watched #Emmerdale for a while so put it on tonight and #MandysBack! I'm guessing with a mini Paddy as well’, another predicted.

‘Bloody hell the return of #MandyDingle @LisaRileyUK is looking fabulous’, wrote a third.

Lisa told The Sun: “I could not be happier to be returning in the new year to Emmerdale.

“It's something I never thought would happen after 17 years and I am so interested to see what trouble Mandy is capable of causing.

“But mostly being back with all my old friends, it's like I've never been away.”

We can't wait to see what happens next!

Emmerdale continues on Monday at 7pm on ITV
