Peter Crouch teases Wayne Bridge over the 'curse of Strictly'

Footballer Peter Crouch has revealed he can’t resist winding up his friend Wayne Bridge over the 'curse' of Strictly Come Dancing.

Recently retired England football star Wayne has been on the receiving end of jokes as his wife Frankie continues her success in the BBC dance show with partner Kevin Clifton.

“I’ve been texting Wayne and giving him some stick about it,” Peter told the Daily Mirror.

Peter and his model wife Abbey Clancy’s marriage has stayed strong after she took part in Strictly last year, and won the show with dashing pro dancer Aljaz Skorjanec.

But other stars such as Countdown’s Rachel Riley, Susanna Reid and Ben Cohen suffered romantic fallouts after appearing on the show, which is said to have a 'curse' because of the amount of contestants who break up with their partners.

Stoke City striker Peter also said he has been catching up with the current series.

“I’ve been watching the show and Frankie’s doing really well. I haven’t had a chance to watch it with Abbey yet because I’m always at football,” Peter continued.

Pop star Frankie previously brushed off the supposed curse, saying: “Wayne’s excited for me. We have male dancers with The Saturdays, so he knows it’s just dancing. He has nothing to worry about.”
