Swashbuckling summer Sunday nights are just around the corner as BBC 1's hit period drama, Poldark returns on 10th June.

The Beeb have released a trailer for Series 4, which will see Captain Ross Poldark temporarily swap the windswept landscape of Cornwall for the corridors of political power in London after his promise to stand for Parliament.

There he will meet and clash with a new baddie, Monk Adderley who is a friend of ruthless MP George Warleggan.

But what's going on with Poldark's marriage to Demelza after the handsome but dastardly Hugh Armitage tried to make a move on Demelza at the end of Series 3? The scene could be set for an epic showdown!

“They might start off a bit rocky and they might try to figure things out,” series star Aidan Turner told RadioTimes.com. “It’s a very real relationship, these things can happen in a marriage.”

Poldark returns on Sunday 10th June at 9:00pm on BBC 1
