Viewers first met Sally when she appeared in the 30th Anniversary of Casualty (opens in new tab) last August. At the time, Sally gave Casualty superstar Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson) hell for leather.
Sally’s appearance this week, however, is mired in tragedy. The reclusive pensioner ends up in the ED after her car causes an inferno that could be fatal for a helpful passerby. And, for some reason, bipolar and ill, David (Jason Durr (opens in new tab)) has taken an instant shine to her.
With the ED in chaos, we see a softer side to Sally, who seems to be one of the few people who not only sees how strangely nurse David Hide is acting, but can connect with him too. Could Sally be David’s unlikely saviour in his time of need?
Meanwhile, Sally’s harbouring a secret pain about her own health. Will she let her robust guard down long enough to let Charlie help her?
