Spice Girl Mel C has denied that the band plan to find a new member via a reality TV show after Victoria Beckham announced she would not be returning to the group.
According to the Sunday people the remaining four band members, who also include Mel B, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton, were planning to launch an X Factor style search for Posh's replacement, tentatively titled Wannabe Spice.
However Mel C has since taken to Twitter to apparently refute the claims.
"It seems there are some very peculiar stories in the press today," she tweeted. "I haven't seen one that's true yet!"
The report had suggested that Geri - aka Ginger Spice- had been leading the plans for the TV show, with the winner given the chance to join the girls on a future tour.
And an insider had also hinted that the other Spices were keen on reuniting the band.
"Emma and both the Melanies are busy for the next year but are talking about doing something afterwards," the source told the paper.

“It is a dream of Geri’s to get the girls back together for good, a bit like how Take That have done it.
“She has spoken to TV production companies about how it would work and has got herself very excited indeed. Things are gradually getting further down the line.”
All four of the remaining Spice Girls have dabbled in reality TV in recent years.
Mel B and Geri both appeared as guest judges on the 2012 series of The X Factor, while Emma Bunton spent two series on the panel of Dancing On Ice.
Meanwhile Mel C followed suit last summer by appearing as a judge on the panel of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Superstar.
