Strictly’s Peter Andre fears glitterball out of reach after doubts about live tour

Singer Peter Andre is said to be anxious that he may be denied Strictly Come Dancing’s famous glitter because his touring commitments clash with the show’s 2016 live tour.

Peter, who along with practising for Strictly is busy promoting his new album, he has a fully booked tour in 2016 that starts two weeks after the Strictly live tour comes to a close. But rehearsals for his own shows mean that he will reportedly be unable to appearing on all of the live dates.

A spokesperson for Andre has since apparently said the star is making every attempt to appear on the Strictly tour. Andre fears, however, that Strictly’s bosses will not allow him to win the show because they will want the winning partnership present at every date on the live schedule.

The report came after it was suggested earlier in the week that Andre had been missing rehearsal slots as he promoted his new album.

A source told The Sun: “Pete believes he’ll be denied the Glitterball as they want the winner on tour at all costs. But he has his own live swing tour which is going to bring him loads more money and did not want to commit to weeks more Strictly.”

Whether or not Andre’s fears are real - or justified - may be negligible anyway as the competition on Strictly is fierce. EastEnders Kellie Bright is going great guns, as is Call the Midwife’s Helen George. On the male side, former The Wanted star Jay McGuiness is definitely high on the talent stakes, although reports this week suggested he and his partner Aliona Vilan suffered injuries during practice this week.
