Remember, it’s only the second week of the competition between the 15 celebs and their pro partners, but already singer/songwriter Pixie Lott and EastEnders’ star Jake Wood are so hot they've probably left scorch marks on the dance floor.

Both Jake and Pixie scored 35/40 for their dances in round - three nines each from Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell and an eight each from Craig Revel Horwood.

Yes, even crabby Craig couldn’t resist Pixie’s waltz with partner Trent Whiddon, describing it as “a beautiful, beautiful dance”.

And Craig was just as taken with Jake’s sexy salsa with Janette Manrara…

“Those hips could crack coconuts,” he told Jake.

“Hips don’t lie!” shouted Bruno. “That was shameless, undiluted, full on salsa!”

Tennis coach Judy Murray didn’t have nearly such a good night, scoring just 17/40 for her cha-cha-cha and could be in danger of making an early exit from the contest, just like her son sometimes does. DJ Scott Mills only managed 20/40 for his tango, which Len said was “a little too polite”.

Other movers and shakers who did have a good night were TV presenter Caroline Flack, who got 29/40 for her tango with Pasha Kovalev and Frankie Bridge, who got 30/40 for her Charleston with Kevin Clifton. This Morning’s Alison Hammond only scored 22/40 for her foxtrot and admitted “this body isn’t made for ballroom”. But Darcey told her, “I’m never going to get bored of you”.

It’s the viewers’ votes that can determine who stays and who goes, though.

Strictly Come Dancing 2014’s first dance-off between the two celebs with the least votes is on BBC1, Sunday, October 5, 7.20pm.
