Strictly's Ola Jordan: 'Ashley's great. He does just as he's told!'

Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer Ola Jordan talks to TV Times magazine about her dream of winning two series, and why celebrity partner Ashley Taylor Dawson is perfect…

You won in 2009 when you were partnered with Chris Hollins. How would it feel to win again this year?

"I would really like that! This could be again my chance, but you don’t know so I don’t want to think about it too much just yet…"

Ashley is trying to balance his Strictly commitments with his job on Hollyoaks and also being a new dad...

"Ashley’s schedule is manic as he’s got a big storyline at the moment, but he’s brilliant and never comes into training exhausted. He always gives 100 per cent and we’re having a lot of fun."

What's Ashley like to work with?

"Ashley’s very nice and very easy to work with. He listens to everything I’ve got to say and just does as he’s told – which is great!"

What sort of tutor would you say you are?

"I don’t think I’m a tough teacher, I just say it how it is. I’ll go, 'That is not very good, we have to do it again!'"

The judges have pulled Ashley up on his technique from time to time. Where do you think he needs to improve?

"Ashley needs to work on a lot of the technique, posture and position of the holds, shoulders and arms, but obviously it doesn’t take five minutes to learn things so we’ll try to slowly get there, somehow."

Ashley has also become mates with your husband and professional partner, fellow Strictly pro James Jordan! We've seen their Twitter banter...

"They’re really good friends, it’s quite funny when they’re together!"

Do you still enjoy being on Strictly every year?

"Yes I still love being a part of it. The nice part of Strictly for me as well is being together with James. He’s very supportive of me."
