THE LOWDOWN For the first time in the UK comes the UK Blu-ray release of the 1964 crime thriller, The Killers, from director Don Siegel (Dirty Harry). One of the first post-noir films, Siegel’s taut thriller, loosely inspired by the Ernest Hemingway story, was originally intended to be a TV movie, but was pulled due to its overtly graphic violence. It’s also the film that gave Lee Marvin his finest role and was Ronald Reagan’s last movie before entering politics.
