John Adeleye has become the latest act to get the boot from The X Factor 2010 after losing out to Treyc Cohen in the sing-off. The 29-year-old care worker found himself singing for survival for the first time alongside Treyc, who was also facing her first sing-off. And although it was a close call, he lost out after he had performed the Kelly Clarkson hit Because Of You and Treyc had sung Jennifer Hudson's One Night Only. All of the judges except for John's mentor Louis Walsh voted to save Treyc - but they admitted that they had a tough choice on their hands. "I guess the difficult part is from the first performance with John I know what kind of artist you are," Dannii Minogue told him, with Treyc I feel like you're presenting something different every week." "What's been frustrating is that the song last night didn't really help you," added Simon, "we haven't seen the person we saw on the first audition and I don't think you've been looked after properly." John meanwhile, said that he would continue to pursue a career in music despite his early exit from the show. "I'm gonna come away from this, go back to music, go to the room, put some music down, come out and I'm gonna tear it up...John A has left the building," he told Dermot O'Leary. John received a mixed response on Saturday night's show for his rendition of the 80s hit Zoom. Although the judges praised his vocals Simon criticised the song choice calling it "horrible" and added that the backing dancers were "distracting". Eleven acts now remain in the competition, including Cher Lloyd, Katie Waissel and Wagner, who made it through to the sound of booing from the audience. Girl group Belle Amie, who survived the sing-off last week and were the favourites for the chop this week, also made it while favourites Matt Cardle, Mary Byrne and One Direction sailed through the public vote. The remaining acts who made it straight through to next week were Paije Richardson, Aiden Grimshaw and Rebecca Ferguson. Cheryl remains the only mentor in the competition who has yet to lose an act, with all four girls making it through after Treyc survived the sing off. Dannii still has three of her boys remaining while Simon and Louis are now down to two acts apiece in the groups and over-28s categories. The results show also featured a performance from Cheryl Cole, who sang her new single Promise This. The song is the first release from her second solo album Messy Little Raindrops. Jazz singer Michael Buble, who was a guest in the 2009 final of the show, also returned to perform his new single Hollywood for the first time.
