Win Fritz Lang's classic film noir Beyond A Reasonable Doubt on DVD

Hoping to expose fatal flaws in the legal system, a writer (Dana Andrews of Laura fame) places a bet that he can have himself convicted of murder on purely circumstantial evidence by planting false clues at a crime scene, before sensationally revealing his trick at the last minute. However, a series of disastrous coincidences leaves him facing execution - and a frantic search for the true killer begins.

Fritz Lang's expertly devised thriller (his last Hollywood film before he returned to Europe to film The Indian Tomb, and a companion-piece to While The City Sleeps) also stars Academy Award winner Joan Fontaine (Rebecca) and Arthur Franz (The Caine Mutiny) and is regarded as a masterpiece of film noir, the genre of dark crime films that reached its peak in 1940s and 50s Hollywood.
