Is it one sob story too far? Supposed foster child and The X Factor wannabe Alan Turner has been exposed as a cheat by a parent he claimed to not know. Alan, 23, auditioned on The X Factor on Saturday and advanced to boot camp after the judges fell for his traumatic story about being raised in a foster home and just wanting to prove himself to the real parents he didn't know. But his real father, Alan Turner sr, told the Daily Mirror: "He has not been fostered. I have never signed any papers to have him fostered. I was sat watching the X Factor when my son came on. I was shocked because I'd no idea he was on the show. "I was even more shocked when I heard him say he had been fostered and wanted to find out who his real mum and dad were. I only spoke to him five weeks ago. "I don't want to make a big deal about this because I don't want to cause problems for him - but the fact is he has told a lie. He's made himself look a bit of a clot." This was confirmed by his uncle, Shaun Stanfield: "His mam and dad have always been there for him. He's invented this sob story just to dupe the judges into putting him through. "This is the third time Alan has auditioned for the X Factor. The other times he didn't get through, so his antics this time have clearly worked." Shaun said not only was Alan not abandoned by his mum and dad, but the family have spent thousands financing his desire to be a singer. He added: "The family is up in arms about this after all we've done. It's not that I don't want the best for him. But Alan needs a reality check. If he wants to win X Factor he should do it on merit, not by stabbing his family in the back." After his parents split when he was 18 months old, he began to live with his grandmother, who appeared on The X Factor as his 'foster parent'. The Mirror reports that neither Alan nor X factor producers were prepared to comment.
