X Factor favourite Matt Cardle has launched a scathing attack on fellow contestant Katie Waissel, according to the papers. The Mirror reports that the 27-year-old - who is tipped to win the show - described Katie as "fame-hungry" and said he wanted her out of the competition. His remarks come two weeks after reports that the pair had been having a secret affair in the house, which turned out to be untrue, and which Matt accused Katie of leaking to the papers. "I would never go near her," he said. "I'm not speaking to her, I don't have anything to do with her in the house. "I've made my feelings absolutely clear and if she doesn't get it by now then she's more stupid than I thought." And when asked what Katie could do to make amends with Matt he replied, "The only thing she could do is leave the competition. "I don't care if she's in or out, as long as she's out of my face." Matt also denied rumours that he has reunited with his girlfriend Lauren Cutmore after pictures appeared in the papers of the pair together. "I'm single," he admitted. "It is totally wrong but she is a lovely girl and we still talk to each other." Girl group Belle Amie are the favourites to be eliminated from this weekend's Halloween-themed show, with Wagner second favourite to go.
